Hello everyone! My first update via the blog, and the next meet up for The Game Cave Gaming Club will be July 11th 2026.
I need a bit more time to get things ready for the 40k league, so I’ll be trying out a few things this weekend. Both of my ideas for a ruleset are not ready to go right now, so I need a bit more time to get nail down everything.

I need to know how many people are wanting to play, and can commit to at least 2 of the next 3 meet ups. New and existing players are all welcome!
We have 3 armies to lend out, Orkz, Necrons, and I can whip up at least one Space Marine list as well. So if you like power armor, green soccer hooligans or Egyptian robot zombies, we have some armies for you to try!
The basic idea for this league will be that it starts on July 11th, and ends on August 1st. That will span 3 meet ups. We’ll meet and play at least one game each week, which i will pre assign each week, unless you and someone else request a match. So 3 games total, we can also schedule make up games, or you can set something up outside of club if needed. Though you will need to play someone different each meet up, so we can get to know each other and have a nice variety of games played.
On August 1st, we’ll have some awards after the games are done. I’ll have a spreadsheet tracking some stats over that time. We’ll track overall wins and victory points, number of models painted(if you’re not borrowing them, though we can discuss this), number of characters defeated in battle, and one or two other things. I’ll have an award for the top placing player in each category! 3d printed medals or models for trophies, I haven’t finalized anything just yet.
I’ll have more info about the game size later this week, it’ll be small for sure though, around 500 points or combat patrol size.
After this league we’ll aim to do an escalation league, with a bit more narrative attached to it. So we’ll continue with our small armies and build them up over a longer period of time, and come up with a story that plays out over the course of our games! I do have that started at least, so prepare to conquer some cities!
Of course we’ll also have our usual crop of board and card games as well, and everyone is welcome to bring any game they’d like to play as well! See you on the 11th!
